Effective from January 1st 2014, Munich based company AROS GmBH will now be known as Riello Power Systems GmbH, completing the two year integration process of the Riello UPS and AROS brands.
For decades , AROS GmbH has offered advanced solutions in the field of power continuity through an extensive range of products that includes more than 60 models; all developed to meet the complex technological needs of the market.
Following the name change, the Riello Elettronica Group is now represented in Germany by two branches. The Munich subsidiary, Riello Power Systems GmbH, is supported by the management team of Mr. Mathias Sigl and Mr. Luca Buscherini , the new General Manager. The focus of the company is to provide quality power protection products with a view to protecting the environment and reducing fuel consumption.
"Both the new name, as well as the appointment of new management, is a clear sign of the strengthening of our subsidiary within the Riello Elettronica Group", said Luca Buscherini. Riello Power Systems GmbH supplies world renowned products in the field of Uninterruptible Power Continuity for a range of electrical equipment and applications, from the home or office, complex industrial installations, critical medical equipment, to large IT facilities and data centers.
Bespoke solutions and tailor-made three-phase systems for the medical , industrial and data center sectors are the primary offering of Riello Power Systems GmbH, however the company also provides technologically advanced energy storage systems for use in Smart Grids and renewable applications.

For the second year running, Riello UPS has renewed its annual sponsorship of the DATACENTRE.ME website.
DATACENTRE.ME is the global site for companies in the world of data centres today.
It provides companies like Riello UPS with valuable industry information such as daily news, a directory of relevant events, webinars and training courses to attend, report recommendations as well as a recruitment section.
Also continuing the support for the site, Riello UPS has also signed up as an event sponsor for the "Data Centre Design & Build” networking event on the evening of Thursday 23rd October.
Riello UPS is pleased to announce the new Multi Sentry 160-200 kVA, the brand new models of high efficiency and ultra compact UPS of the Multi Sentry family.
Riello UPS enlarges its offer adding Multi Sentry MST 160 and 200 on the product portfolio. This product integrates the existing three phase MST range 10-120 kVA to offer a complete large selection of transformer less UPS from 10 to 200 kVA. With 12 different power ratings it satisfies any critical power demand (10, 12, 15, 20, 30, 40, 60, 80, 100, 120, 160, 200)
MST 160-200 enlarge Multi Sentry family therefore it follows the general design structure and the UPS operations approach (same logic, same LCD display navigation menu) Nevertheless, MST 160-200 is at the cutting edge of UPS development taking on board the latest three level inverter technology and intelligent control which grant:
- kW = kVA (output pf =1)
- Very high efficiency (>96%)
- Smart ventilation (saving energy and reduce noise)
kW = kVA
The unitary output power factor grants higher active power availability (+11% compare to UPS with pf 0,9). Furthermore, MST supplies capacitive loads with PF from 1 to 0,9 with no power downgrading applied; therefore it is suitable for any data center application with unitary or capacitive power factor (new server generations which commonly work between unity to 0,95 leading PF). In response to any tender requirement for UPS performances under leading/lagging load applied, MST operates properly whatever is the load power factor range applied.
Very high Efficiency
State-of-the-art three-level NPC inverters grants an overall UPS efficiency greater than 96%. Efficiency overcomes 95% starting from 22% load level guarantee high efficiency regardless the UPS load level; this result in minimizing the losses and therefore the energy cost at any operating load condition.
Smart ventilation principle on MST 160-200 manages the number of operating fans and their speed according with room temperature and load level. So doing we preserve fan’s life span and at same time we reduce noise level and overall power consumption for unnecessary UPS ventilation.
Riello UPS guarantees superior returns from its products by ensuring the highest protection for the load, efficiency of power conversion and reduced need for air conditioning
Based on its recent analysis of the uninterruptible power supply (UPS) market, Frost & Sullivan recognizes Riello UPS with the 2014 Global Frost & Sullivan Award for Growth Excellence Leadership. The company has realized that for a superior customer experience, it has to offer a combination of excellent product quality, industry-leading service capabilities and highly reliable products.
Riello UPS ensures top-class quality right from the product design through to the final testing of its products by methodically choosing the best possible components for its UPS products. It also offers flexible operating modes such as on-line, smart, and stand-by on, to ensure minimum power consumption and compatibility with the conditions of the load and the mains. Riello UPS employs a sophisticated self-diagnostic system in its UPS, which makes problem identification extremely simple and ultimately, facilitates the servicing.
“The company’s UPS systems are marked by advanced features, functionalities and most importantly, 96.4 percent efficiency in on-line mode of the MST series (certified by TUV-Germany),” said Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Gautham Gnanajothi. “Additionally, it offers simple yet complete communication features in its UPS products that enable customers to monitor all the necessary and important parameters.”
Owing to these significant product advantages, the company registered growth rates well above the market average of 2 percent to 3 percent in 2013. Noting the profusion of opportunities in other regions, Riello UPS strategically shifted focus towards Asia-Pacific markets such as India, Australia and Singapore, and increased its direct presence in these regions. It also established the local assembly of UPS products to cater to local needs. Simultaneously, the company maintained excellent relations with channel partners, as globally, the market sells indirectly through distributors and resellers.
Apart from its dedication to enhancing customer experiences, Riello UPS has also benefitted from its ability to find a balance between organic and inorganic growth. Riello UPS chooses its acquisition targets methodically, and does not go ahead with an acquisition unless the company matches its requirements down to the last detail. Furthermore, after the acquisition, it has followed the general practice of keeping the management of the acquired company unchanged. In doing so, it maintains the spirit of the acquired entity, which eventually lends to greater stability to its business operations.
It has also grown organically by expanding its distributor network, providing training and support; expanding its geographic coverage, with focus on the high developing areas (mainly BRIC countries); and penetrating the U.S. market with the launch of a UL-series of 3-phase UPS.
“Riello UPS is practical in its approach to sustaining this growth, demonstrating shared focus between short-term and long-term goals,” noted Gnanajothi. “That company has strived hard to excel in its short-term objectives, which, ultimately, will help it achieve its long-term ambition of being one of the undisputed market leaders in the global UPS industry.”
